Team Liquorice take on the Cheltenham Half Marathon

On a chilly sunday morning Team Liquorice took on the challenge of the 2015 Cheltenham Half Marathon.  Setting off at a crisp 9 degrees, half marathon novices Emma Loveridge and Darren Low were targetting a solid pace amongst the 4500 other entrants.  Winding through Regency Cheltenham the route was lined with thousands of spectators and jelly baby buckets.  The sweet sugar rush certainly helped the Liquorice duo push through the 13.1 miles.

The toughest sector of the route, 2 miles around the legendary Cheltenham Racecourse (inner road, no fences were jumped in the running of this half marathon) certainly pushed the limits coming in at the 10 mile point.  After the tough uphill sections of the racecourse, the weary legs were gifted a downhill sprint for the final mile taking the runners passed the Pitville Pump Rooms into Pitville Park and through the cheering crowds to the finish line and a welcome bottle of water and medal.
