Winner : Best Event Website 2015 at the ETAs
The Liquorice team are delighted that the website the agency conceived, designed, and built for the UK’s best Christmas Market has won Best Event Website 2015 at the Event Technology Awards. The website was produced for Bath Tourism Plus and promotes the fabulous Bath Chrismtas Market. Liquorice were appointed by BTP following a tender process in the Spring of 2014 and the new site was developed through the summer months (when we felt at our most festive – carols in the office in August went down a treat!). With a brief to improve engagement, and make the site accessible across all devices to replace a desktop only platform, we weaved a story through the site to connect the visitor with the ‘makers’ – the craftsmen and women and tradespeople behind all of the unique gifts, goods and tasty treats that are available at the Market.
The process was very collobarative, with client workshops and frequent reviews during the design and build process. Traditional advertising was stripped out of the site and features at a minimum level, with monetisation opportunites converted to sponsored and promoted content, which is much more a part of the site, and ensures all advertisers and partners are given maximum visbility but in a manner that integrates their content better into Bath Christmas Market website.
Sarah James, Digital Marketing Manager at Bath Tourism Plus commented:
“Bath Tourism Plus is delighted to have won the Best Event Website / Mobile Site at the 2015 Event Technology Awards. The judges loved the beautiful design of the website and how easy it was to navigate, which we of course owe a big thank you to Liquorice for. As well as the design of the site perfectly reflecting the brand values of the market, it’s easy to use, especially on mobile, meaning that our visitors can access all of the information they need during their visit to the market.”
Darren Low, Managing Director at Liquorice commented:
“From the tender process, through to the design and build, the team worked tirelessly to create a site with personality, that could tell stories, and that would retain visitors on-site for as long as possible, rather than sending them off to third party sites for further information. In a short period of time, and with great teamwork with the marketing department at BTP, we were able to produce a site that not only delivered to the brief, but has been judged by a panel of experts as best in class and we are all very proud of the achievement”
